About Panda Express
Panda Express, located at 12327 Norwalk Blvd, Norwalk, CA 90650, is a prominent fast-food chain specializing in American Chinese cuisine, offering a blend of traditional Chinese flavors with a fast-casual dining experience. Established in 1983, Panda Express has grown from a single food court outlet into one of the largest and most recognized Chinese restaurant chains in the United States. The restaurant is known for its signature dishes such as Orange Chicken, which was developed in 1987 and has become a staple favorite among customers nationwide. Alongside its classic offerings, Panda Express also provides health-conscious options, catering to a diverse clientele seeking both indulgent and balanced meals.
The origins of Panda Express trace back to the entrepreneurial vision of Andrew Cherng and his wife Peggy Cherng, who, together with Andrewβs father, Master Chef Ming Tsai Cherng, initially founded Panda Inn in Pasadena, California, in 1973. This family-owned business laid the foundation for what would become a nationwide phenomenon. The transition from Panda Inn to Panda Express was driven by a strategic opportunity to introduce a fast-food version of their restaurant concept in the Glendale Galleria food court, thanks to a connection with the real estate managers of the mall. This move allowed Panda Express to reach a broader audience by offering quick, flavorful Chinese dishes in a convenient setting, which was relatively novel at the time.
Panda Expressβs success is deeply rooted in the Cherng familyβs commitment to quality, innovation, and community. Peggy Cherngβs background in engineering played a crucial role in the operational efficiency of the chain, as she developed early computer systems to manage inventory and customer feedback, setting Panda Express apart in the fast-food industry. The companyβs menu has evolved over the years to include a variety of dishes that appeal to different tastes and dietary preferences, including lighter, health-conscious choices that reflect growing consumer demand for nutritious options.
The Norwalk location continues this tradition by providing quick, flavorful meals that maintain the high standards of the Panda Restaurant Group. Customers can expect a welcoming environment where the focus is on delivering consistent quality and taste. The restaurantβs phone number, +1 562-863-7600, is available for inquiries and orders, ensuring accessibility and convenience for the local community.
Panda Expressβs journey from a modest food court stall to a global brand with thousands of locations worldwide exemplifies the American dream realized through dedication, innovation, and cultural fusion. The chain not only serves food but also fosters a connection to Chinese culinary heritage adapted for the fast-paced lifestyle of modern America. Its presence in Norwalk, CA, is a testament to the brandβs enduring appeal and its ability to meet the evolving tastes of its customers while honoring its roots in authentic Chinese cooking.

I know this happens at all fast food places, it shouldn't be normal, but it happens. But in this panda express in particular, this has been the second time in a week where I go up and ask for what I want, then I go sit down and wait for my turn so I can pay, drive back home, open up the container and it's NOT what I ordered. At that point I just eat it because I don't want to drive all the way there again, please fix this. Like I said, we all make mistakes but twice in a week in the same place? Come on

In the past they used to give a good amount of serving per plate. Now it feels like a scam. Honestly i would recommend people giving mom and pop chinese spots a chance over panda express. I would have never thought i would be posting something like this but i think it fair for consumers to see what is happening. At one point i thought i was going crazy for how much they cutting their portion sizes until i realized they changed the structure of their plates. Their plates literally have a bump to make the plate look more than what you getting. Personally I think this is very dishonest. You raise your prices while serving less. My rating is the food is good, especially when they just cooked more so 5 out 5. They know how to do continous cooking right. 5 out 5. So speed of service is 5 out of 5. Amazed how fast they can clear a line. The dining room is clean and workers have a good attitude 5 out 5. Portion sizes -5 out 5. Do better. Overall, Panda express is a good place to eat and try some Chinese food. Just note you will leave unsatisfied bill and plate size.

If you love long lines and rude team this is the panda for you. Even if you order ahead of time they will still make you wait. They donβt call out orders and team gives you attitude when you ask for order.

I ordered to pick up during lunch so it was quite packed but got my order quickly. The chowmein tasted undercooked because it was harden and tough to bite off ( after i tried to microwave it for a good amount of time) and lack of seasoning, other things were alright. Veggie was tasty, meat is good per usual. Feel like they used to give u more noodles and veggie, my plate felt a bit light idk if itβs becuz they skimp on online order like chipotle or not. 3 stars cuz at least itβs cheap thanks to dodgers discount. π«€π«€
